Gajar Ka Halwa Recipe.
Gajar ka Halwa or carrot halwa is a popular sweet dish from the Indian sub-continent. Gajar ka Halwa, is homecooked and served for simple parties or even on regular days or commercially made and served at weddings and other such celebrations.
Ingredients:
- 1 kg Carrots/Gajar peeled and grated
- 120 g Granulated Sugar
- 200 ml Milk/Doodh
- 3-4 tablespoons ghee
- Nuts cashews, almonds, pistachios optional.
Method:
- In a pan melt ghee slowly on low heat.
- Add grated carrots and cook for 15 minutes until soft stir every few minutes so carrots don’t get burned.
- Pour the milk and cover with lid and cook on low heat and cook for 10 min.
- Add sugar and cook for 2 min.
- When the ghee leaves the pan and color changes, add your nuts and serve.
