Green Peas Pulao (Pilaf) Recipe.
Green Peas Pulao (Pilaf) is a simple, easy to cook recipe. Green Peas Pulao (Pilaf) can be eaten it with Raita, kach umber, or served with Aloo Ghosht or Chicken ka salan.
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup oil
- 2 medium onions, sliced
- 3 tsp cumin seeds
- 9 whole cloves
- 1 small stick cinnamon
- 1.5 cups frozen peas
- 3 cups white basmati rice, (wash and soak for half an hour before using)
- 3.5 tsp salt, or to taste
Method:
- In a cooker or a Normal pan heat oil and add cumin seeds.
- Add cloves, bay leaf, star anise, cinnamon stick, black pepper and cardamom. saute till they turn aromatic.
- Then saute onions till they turn translucent, saute green chili and ginger-garlic paste.
- Add green peas and saute well. either add fresh or frozen peas.
- Now add basmati rice soaked for at least 30 minutes and saute gently.
- Add 1.5 cups of water. always add 1.5 cups of water to 1 cup of basmati rice.
- Add salt to taste and mix well.
- pressure cook for 2 whistles on medium flame.
- Once the pressure is released from the cooker, gently fluff.
- Or cook on high heat until all the water has dried out. Stir once or twice with a slotted spoon.
- Finally, serve peas pulao or mattar pulao with raita or whatever you like.
